Not all Jammers own the required animals to visit the Secret Areas. You could purchase the items in the Secret Area shops and trade them with Jammers that cannot access those areas. Leave a comment down below if you have a great story of when you visited a Secret Area for the first time!

Trading is an essential part of both Animal Jam and Play Wild. It allows you to obtain items that have gone on clearance, and are no longer sold in any of the shops in the game. There are many unique items that never get sold in any of the shops, but only obtainable by redeeming special codes. Those items can also be traded. Today, we are going to take a closer look at the trading system in Play Wild. I will teach you how to trade, and give you a few handy tips and tricks!
How to Trade in Play Wild
Trading in Play Wild is actually quite easy. In order to initiate a trade, you first have to click on, and view a player’s Player Card. The Player Card shows information about that player, such as their username, and what they are looking to trade. It also allows you to add that player to your buddy list, go to their den, block them from communicating with you and report them to AJHQ.
In the picture above, you can see what a Player Card looks like. In order to initiate a trade, you have to click on the button with the two circular arrows. This will pull out a more information, allowing you to see what this player wants to trade. In this case, they want to trade a Spiked Collar. If you are interested in that item, you can continue by tapping said item.
This brings you to the trade window, where you can request a trade. At the bottom of your screen, you will see your own inventory. You can tap on the items that you are willing to offer for the item that the trader is offering. Keep in mind that, once you have tapped on the green “Request Trade” button, the other player is able to accept, and your items will be gone.
This will conclude the trade. You can also put items up for trade of your own. Other players will be able to request a trade for your items as well. You can always decline a trade, if you feel like your item has more value than what is being offered.
Play Wild Trading Tips
It should go without saying, but you should never offer, or trade, items that you are not willing to part ways with. It is not possible for AJHQ to replace any of the items you have traded.
Don’t take any I.O.U’s. (I Owe You’s). If someone is offering to pay you another time for one of your items, simply decline. They are most certainly out to scam you out of your item.
If you feel like your items are more valuable, you can simply decline the offer. If you want a certain item, and the trader requests more items of you than you are willing to offer, simply decline as well. Avoid getting low-balled for your valuable items.
If players are bugging you, bullying you into trading with them, pull up their Player Card and block them, after which you can report them to the AJHQ mods by tapping on the police badge.
Keep in mind that Play Wild has members-only items. If you are not a member, you should not trade for these items, because you won’t be able to use them.
Don’t offer basic items that can still be purchased in the in-game shops. They have almost no value, because the player you are trading with can purchase them too.
Don’t give out your password, not even to your buddies, family members or real life friends. Nothing good can come out of that. You should also make sure your password is something only you would know.
How to Find Traders in AJPW
The easiest way to find traders in Play Wild is by going to crowded places. It is currently not possible to change servers in Play Wild, which means that certain locations are packed with players. Currently, the Jamaa Township, as well as the Sapphire Shop, are filled with traders.
That being said, it can be quite difficult to stick out in crowded places. Players usually chat a lot, and the chat bubbles might overshadow yours. It is important to stand at a location where you are still seen, but not crowded by other players.
An easy way to attract attention to yourself would be by using emotes and actions. You can use your animal’s dance or play action to show that you are active. You will also have to announce that you are trading; type out what you are looking for, or what you are offering as a trade.
There are always players that have ill intentions when it comes to trading. They will try to offer you low value items, and try to pressure you into accepting the trade. Never let your emotions get the better of you. Simply deny those players, pull out their Player Cards and report them to the mods. They will probably get muted or banned for trying to scam you.
